Is the iPhone 7 Pro about to be released?

There is always plenty of speculation surrounding the release of any new Apple products. One thing seems certain the iPhone7 will be available in September. Rumours have been rife for some time about features, models and release dates so here are our predictions.

The iPhone 7

Our money was on a Tuesday launch as that seems to be Apple’s preferred day of the week but according to MacWorld they are anticipating an announcement on 7th September (well it is the iPhone 7)  followed by the new model (or models) going on sale on Friday 16th.

Probably the most talked about and possibly the most controversial new feature is likely to be dropping the headphone jack. WiFi headphones are great but loosing the headphone jack also means less flexibility for users. Apple have never been afraid of making changes that might cause some inconvenience to their users and their loyal customer base tends to embrace innovation so this will probably be welcomed, in fact we suspect twelve months from now iPhone users will have forgotten all about the headphone jack.

What else could be in store for apple users? We’re all crossing our fingers for longer battery life but I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that one. We’d also be thrilled if the waterproofing rumours turn out to be true. We’ve all dropped a phone in the swimming pool or down the toilet at some point or other!

We think it is likely that Apple won’t release a 16GB version of their latest iPhone. We all require more storage these days and 16GB simply isn’t enough anymore. We expect the iPhone 7 to be available with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB memory options.

It looks likely that the iPhone 7 release will also include an iPhone 7 Plus model. There has been plenty of talk of an iPhone 7 Pro too but industry experts believe we might have to wait a little longer for this and we think it will be 2017 before it comes to market.

So what will be so special about the Pro if and when it becomes a reality? Here are just a handful of features we’ve heard industry experts and Apple fans speculating about:

  • An edge-to-edge screen
  • Wireless charging
  • A dual-camera system developed by LinX (Apple now own LinX so we think this one is a strong possibility)
  • 3D screen – sounds great but we’re not sure we’ll see this just yet!

There will no doubt be more rumours and leaks before we hear anything official but as September approaches there isn’t too much longer to wait!
